About the Role
We are looking for top-notch Tour Support staff who can provide our guests with exceptional and unforgettable experiences when they arrive at our tour shop. We’ll also be training candidates with appropriate skill sets as a guide so you can head out and fill in for our guide team in the event of extra bookings, sick call outs or general peak season volume.
What are we looking for?
Ability to multitask and keep track of multiple conversations at once, responding quickly and kindly to questions while receiving new information about outgoing tour groups
Strong communication skills: We need someone who can be friendly, genuine and personable with tour guests, other guides, management and other departments. Communicating effectively and efficiently.
Computer savvy: You’ll want to know your way around google sheets, gmail, and be able to write an email quickly as well as be able to get up to speed on various backend apps. We also utilise Yonder Chatbot, Fareharbor and Lightspeed on a daily basis.
Do you love Vancouver? Are you always curious about what’s new in food, current events and culture in Vancouver? Do you have any special knowledge in city planning, history, environment, local art, etc.?
Are you a natural storyteller, and do you thrive getting up in front of a group? Theatre or acting experience is an asset!
Are you passionate about delivering an enthusiastic and professional level of guest service at all times, working with guests of all ages and abilities in all types of weather.
Are you punctual, reliable and show up for work with an enthusiastic attitude?
Do you possess a willingness to learn new skills and a proactive approach to work?
Are you good at thinking on your feet and working independently?
Do you have a flexible schedule? Can you work weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays?
Do you speak any languages fluently besides English?

Requirements
Passion for Vancouver and a knack for customer service
Fluency in English (French, Spanish, German and other languages are a great asset!)
Emergency first aid certification (can obtain or recertify after hiring)
Responsible and dependable nature
Flexible schedule with availability from April through September (minimum May through end of August)
Legally able to work in Canada
Able to lift 30lbs, frequent twisting and bending (bike fleet storage)
Tour Support Details:
You’ll be trained in running the tour shop and then joining in on guide training as the season ramps up
Assist Tour Operations Manager and Tour Sales Manager with checking in guests , assisting other guides, and other tasks as required
Our peak season is May to September
We are looking for full time availability
Must be able to repeatedly lift approx 30 lb bikes
Comfortable with repeatedly bending and crouching
