About the Role
We look for passionate people who can deliver the ultimate west coast marine experience for our guests, while maintaining professionalism and sharing local knowledge.
You possess outstanding communication and guest service skills, in-depth knowledge of local wildlife and familiarity with significant cultural sites. Whales, marine wildlife, bears, First Nation culture, and natural history are a key part of your language for you to deliver a world-class interpretive experience as an ambassador of the Homalco First Nation and Coast Salish People.
Requirements
Enthusiastically deliver legendary guest experiences
Ensure safety of guests on land and boat
Perform duties as deckhand to skipper
On-going preparation, sanitization and cleaning of vessels and office areas
Support retail sales
Continuous learning of new material on local marine, land and avian wildlife to become an expert in your field
Support other staff in performing their duties
Reporting and record keeping Required skills and certifications (training provided):
Current certificates: OFA Level 1 or basic Marine First Aid; Marine Emergency Duties (MED A3). OFA Level 3 or wilderness first aid an asset.
Marine Wildlife Naturalist certification
Commercial Bear Viewing Level 1 (CBVA)
Valid driver’s license an asset
