Location: We are seeking an experienced Employee Uniform Attendant (2 – Part-time or Casual with preference for early 6AM available on the weekends) for our Vancouver Convention Centre operation.
Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to the Vancouver Convention Centre. Located on Vancouver’s waterfront with a dramatic mountain backdrop, the award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre offers one of the most beautiful settings in the world. As British Columbia’s flagship convention centre, the facility hosts more than 500 events and welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.
Principal Function:
The Employee Uniform Attendant position is responsible for providing neat, clean and pressed uniforms for Sodexo Live! front-line employees. They will either distribute uniforms that are laundered by an outside service, or will operate laundry machinery to clean them internally. This position must strictly adhere to workplace safety procedures, follow guidelines for proper use of laundry and cleaning chemicals and must follow manufacturer safety recommendations for proper equipment usage.
Requirements
Launder and/or distribute clean and pressed uniforms that meet Sodexo Live! grooming standards.
Becoming the central point of contact for welcoming employees by providing service excellence
Providing Welcome Center Services such as preparing and administer employee uniforms, and employee meal tickets.
Assisting new hires set up on the time and attendance system, and onboarding tours
Distributing payroll statements and cheque; may include cash handling for Welcome Centre services.
Supporting the organization of Employee Recognition, Facility program and other miscellaneous employee engagement initiatives
Providing other administrative support to the HR Team.
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
Uphold safe work practices at all times.
Contribute to goal of 100% customer satisfaction through personal commitment to teamwork and service.
Qualifications/Skills:
Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to work well independently.
Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs.
Other Requirements:
Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
